Iris Biometrics for Workforce Management

14 March, 2022

Texmaco is one of Indonesia’s leading manufacturers of industrial machinery and equipment. The company specializes in castings, industrial machinery, process equipment, and engineering services. Texmaco began commercial operations in 1984 and operates manufacturing facilities across multiple locations.

Texmaco deployed IriTech’s Time & Attendance solution at one of its manufacturing sites. The facility employs around 300 workers operating across two shifts.

The solution uses a standard 7-inch tablet with separate ports for data and charging. The data port connects to the IriShield iris scan camera through an OTG cable. The charging port connects to an external power adapter. During check-in and check-out, employees simply align their eyes with the scanner. The system captures and identifies each employee in less than three seconds.

The system operates in a server–client architecture. Client devices connect to the central server through Wi-Fi. The IriShield camera performs iris capture and matching onboard. The system then sends the results to the server to generate automated attendance reports. With 300 employees across two shifts, Texmaco uses three iris biometrics Time & Attendance terminals. The system clears each shift change in approximately ten minutes.

The video below shows employees checking in during a shift change at the Texmaco site. Texmaco reports high satisfaction with the solution. The system helps prevent time theft, reduces management costs, and improves overall operational efficiency.
